Empowering Birth Services
Tammy Soderling Birth Doula (DONA)
Birth is an incredible journey for all...baby, mother, father/partner, extended
family, and all your loving friends. As a birth doula I feel truly blessed to
work in a profession I am passionate about. I am committed to peaceful and powerful
birth experiences for mothers and babies. As a doula, I am committed to helping
mothers feel empowered by the birth of there child. My mission is to provide
factual information that will help mothers and families select a birth style
that is right for them.
It is my belief that every laboring woman should give birth feeling safe, calm,
respected and supported. Knowing that her beliefs and needs are the most important
thing to those around her. She should feel confident that her support team will
help her relax and focus on bringing her child into this world in peaceful harmony.
Before
birth I encourage moms and their partners to learn about the
many birth choices available to them. I assist in attaining information
needed and answer questions based on my experiences and training.

I am certified as a labor doula
devoted to providing invaluable informational, physical, and
emotional support to families so that they can make informed
decisions about pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and the
early days with their newborns. I have supported first-time parents
(and second and third-time parents), VBAC births (vaginal birth
after caesarean), as well as both medicated and non-medicated
births. I am committed to supporting families without judgement,
in any birthing setting they choose (home, birth center, or hospital
with OBs or midwives in attendance). Studies show that the presence
of a doula significantly reduces the amount of time a mother
is in labor and the use of medical interventions. Most importantly,
having support during labor leaves a couple more confident and
satisfied with their birth experience. I am also a provisional
Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth Instructor, offering classes
for expectant couples on the West side of Madison. Please call
me for class dates/times and if you have any questions. I'd love
to meet you!

The
Bradley Method® teaches
natural childbirth and views birth as a natural process. It is
our belief that most women with proper education, preparation,
and the help of a loving and supportive coach can be taught to
give birth naturally. The Bradley Method® teaches couples
ways to stay low risk. While occasionally there are risk factors
out of your control, staying healthy and low risk can help to
avoid complications. Low risk mothers have more choices. The
Bradley Method® is a system of natural labor techniques
in which a woman and her coach play an active part. It is a simple
method of increasing self-awareness, teaching a woman how to
deal with the stress of labor by tuning in to her own body. The
Bradley Method® encourages mothers to trust their bodies
using natural breathing, relaxation, nutrition, exercise, and
education. All Bradley® instructors are highly trained to
help you learn how to give birth. Please visit: www.bradleybirth.com to
find an instructor in your area or e-mail: Betsy.Doula@yahoo.com for
more information on classes in Madison, or if you have any questions.
